Got the Friday Blues?
Isaac's in town and we're planning to go Blues dancing tonight. Anyone want to come with?

The lessons look interesting tonight:

Ted Maddry and Karen Smith (both from Seattle, Karen via Austin) will be teaching the first in a 3-week series. The theme for their intermediate class will be preps: the lead before the lead. They will go over how to initiate steps and weight transfers clearly and quickly alternate between them. This class will allow students to break footwork patterns and lead complicated sequences.

Mmmm... blues dancing... one of these nights I'll have to make it out there. When/where?
What's required (Does it cost? Should I bring water? How's parking? Should I wear good dancing shoes or cheap sneakers?)

Every Friday night, at Studio Gracia. Located at 19 Heron Street (near 8th/Harrison). $15 with lessons, $7 w/o lessons.
8-9PM: Fundamentals
9-10PM: Intermediate (Usually easy to jump into if you already have leading experience)
Street parking within a block is no problem (though watch out for midnight street cleaning!).
It's a dance studio (mirrors and all), and it has a beautiful wood floor. I usually bring my dance shoes to change into.
Dress is casual. Drinking water and tiny cups provided - sadly, there is no bar since it's a dance studio, but unlikely anyone would complain if you had a discreet flask.

Not sure what time we'll arrive - likely for one or both lessons.

H'm, sounds interesting. Probably not tonight- my foot's been bothering me, and I've got a powerful hankering to hit the pub with my work buddies. But definitely in the future!
